The convenant view of the church by A D Pont
The close connection between convenant and church maintained by the leaders of the Reformation was adopted by Prof Pont. In this article a short introduction is given to the concept ‘convenant’. Pont’s view of the church in the light of the convenant is examined, and it is shown that this leads to a ‘Volkskerk’ view. Ultimately there seems to be a close connection between ‘Volkskerk’ and what is peculiar to the ‘volk’.
