The elder in the governing bodies of the Nederduitsch Hervormde Kerk
The purpose of this article is to discuss the threat to the body of elders, as the prime governing ministery, from both the ministers and the deaconate in the different governing bodies of the Nederduitsch Hervormde Kerk. This is done in view of the decision of the General Synod in 1989 to reformulate, rearrange and, if necessary, adapt the Church order.
