A perspective on the new versification of the Psalter in Afrikaans. The envisaged versificaion of all 150 psalms in Afrikaans has been completed. The aricle focuses on the following aspects: the Psalter as a song book; the Psalter as a poetry book; the new versificaion of the Psalter in Afrikaans; a comparison between three versificaions; and the melodies of the versificated Psalter.
