Abstract

J P Oberholzer: Professor and chair of the Department of Old Testament Studies (Sec A) 1971-1992
The work done by J P Oberholzer in the different fields of Old Testament science is investigated and discussed in this article. The trend found in his scholarly work, namely to operate within the ever-widening contexts of theology, church, and God’s relationship with man in Jesus Christ, is shown. The underlying theological paradigm of Barth’s dialectical theology is indicated as well.
